August 12, 200718 yr The SPL 12 will be arriving within 6-8 weeks. It will be priced appropriately compared to other SPL/SQ-based drivers that are currently on the market - with a twist of Mach 5... Best,Mark
August 13, 200718 yr Author wiill there be any spl drivers left over after the pre order are filled out?
August 17, 200718 yr sorry to ask in advance so much, but how will these do on lower power (1400 watts or so) because I know all of us dont have 2.5k watts on tap Edited August 17, 200718 yr by espguitarist91
August 17, 200718 yr They aren't that difficult to drive. With that much power you should make the unit real happy...

September 18, 200717 yr I hate to bring up an old thread, but with the power handling I noticed earlier that it was just noted at 2500 watts. Is this RMS or peak because loyd said during the test that the sub was having a bit of problems at 2000 rms.
September 18, 200717 yr Hmm.. Don't recall Loyd saying that. The thermal limit is rated at 2.5kw RMS. Changes were made to the unit to improve power handling over what Loyd/Chad had tested..
September 18, 200717 yr Admin The prototype I used handled 2500ish with ease. Wish it was getting put to use now.
September 18, 200717 yr My mistake I must have misunderstood this comment:"it performed amazing!, in comparision to woofers we testing during the 12 test session, it was louder than any other woofer posted in the SPL burp listings, with 2kw.. the only woofers louder were the BTL, with 6kw, and the FA MF with 8kw.."The Mach5 was being compared to the 'musical limits' of the BTL and the MF so I thought the 2kw was the limit of the Mach5. My mistake but thanks for answering my question guys
