Hello guys, I am new to this site, and just getting back into car audio. I am planning to run a 15" Fi Q powered by a Cadence TXA-1000D. From what I have read I will benefit from a ported enclosure because I like to listen to rap and music of the like. I was planning on using a slot port enclosure because of the area required for these ports. I have used WinISD properly I believe and have gotten a 3.5 cf chamber tuned to 32 hertz. I used a port size of 3x16.5 and got a length of 29.35 inches. Does this sound remotely close?

I also have a question based on sizing the box as I am having trouble fitting a box this size in my trunk along with two cadence amps while maintaining SOME trunk space. If I went to the 2.8cf-3.0cf (minimum) enclosures would I really notice the difference in bass?

Thanks guys!

Here is approxiamately what my trunk looks like with dimensions. I am still trying to play around with sizes to get everything to fit, but it is pretty hard when you need to also fit 2 11x25x2.12 inch amps in there too! Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

Hey there guys, I spent some time today drawing up a box in my trunk in sketchup. This is the smallest spec'd size for the 15" at 2.8cf plus 0.19 cf for the driver and 1.03 cf for the porting.

Will this box perform well?

I can only tell you that 3.5^3 @ 32Hz sounds very good in the GF's car. Only box I've tried with the Q. I'd try to go bigger than 2.8 if you can as I ran RL-P's in boxes that size and they worked, but output suffered.

Can you go wider and/or a little less depth and put the amps on the back of the box or rear seat? Those amps are monsters LOL

Good to know. I can go up to 41 inches wide. I did have a layout for that. I will have to try to upload it later. I would like to get around 3.5 cf, I dont think I can go much shallower though, all the way across with the same depth still only gives me like 3.7 cf minus the ports. These amps are really some of the biggest I have ever seen! I can put one amp back there but do you think they would have a chance to overheat back there?
