Posted August 30, 200718 yr remember the 4 15" BTL's you sent to me for the SM3-4 build? you wouldnt happen to have a set of specs for those do you?lemme know pleaseThanxPeter
August 31, 200718 yr No I do not have the specific specs for your subs... But if you let me know space and other things we can help you get it setup and rolling.Specs really dont help in the grands scheme of things with SPL. But you could realistically take the BTL15 specs off the site and use those. Nothing majorly different between them. Thanks,Scott
August 31, 200718 yr Author thanx Scott... no biggie.. I just like comparing what the sub does in a program compared to real life in the enclosure in a vehicle... the van is already built nad somewhat loud last 2x show it was at did 156.2dB off a single American Bass 500.1 and they still havent been broken in...when i come back from vacation I will do a few deathmatch runs to break them in should be able to do a 155dB for 5 mins straightin 2005 with 4 matts 3000.1d and 4 mt 15's was able to do 157x for 5 mins straight...this is in street max 3-4 we'll see whatt happens ..I will keep you posted how things are doing thanx again for your help
August 31, 200718 yr Author I love death match... it puts the sub at its best...if it cant do death match for 5 mins at 1/2 power in testing..it cant do a 3 second burp at full power! thats just my opinion... just like seen in the lanes in death match...if u rememebr when TEAM LOUD came across the ocean to compete at finals a few years back... they did 175x i believe in death match then still burped 3db higher without charging thats the crazy chiet... too bad they retired
September 8, 200718 yr Author well we did more testing tonight... did consistent 155.7 - 155.9's with one AB 500.1 also did power test 3756 watts ... at those numbers seems like I need to do death match to soften them up a bit... last year the van did 160.7dB ( found my pictures) with 2 amps power output was only 78xx watts ...or is it possible that the MT is aprox 3dB louder than the BTL 's we just put in the van ?or are they that desperate for breaking i n? they are still tighter than a virgin on her first date
September 8, 200718 yr Author There's a big difference from 7800 watts and 3700 watts....yes I agree... it is a big difference... but... even in theory it is only 3.24dB in reality by adding that much power I should only gain 2dB maybe with some luck 2.5dBdont get me wrong I love these subs...Im just trying to figure out if being as stiff as they are if that could cause that much loss in SPL ?one more question...nothing has changed in the box at all... but swapping out the subs to put in the BTLs is it possibnle the frequency changed by 3-4hz also ?anyone seen this happen before?
September 9, 200718 yr Which BTL/options do you have?Yes the frequency will change, and you will have to re-tune your enclosure to get where you were at...you can't just expect to flop different subs in the holes and gain/be where you were before you started.Thanks!-Nick

I believe he may have even put 5 spiders... when they were built I did give him specs for my box so he had something to owrk with...do the BTL's prefer larger or smaller compared to the MT's ?
September 9, 200718 yr Author well right now Its at 159dB but with 4 amps properly loaded down so aprox 10kw maybe closer to 12kw didnt do power test
September 9, 200718 yr Gotta retune and test man...they are going to peak different than MT's will...
September 10, 200718 yr Author im actually thinking of cutting off 2 spiders per sub... they are way to stiff
