is there away to get a custom coil for my 05 xxx 15 i wanna run lots of power to it and i was thinking maybe like a btl 15 coil with the fi recone for his sub? can it be done????or is the motor made to work with one coil only

lol why not shawn told me it was 1500rms or somthing like tat and im lookig for more

im doing this project to see how loud i can get one 15 in my jeep and im trying to get as much power into it as i can

The XXX coil has to stay the same length to effectively utilize the XBL^2 motor. The BL curve will get all wacked out if you make the coil longer.

hhmm are there any other options for this sub? and do we know the specs? like the max and rms mainly rms

Simply adding more power is a very bad way to increase SPL.

If you want to get as loud as you can, start buying MDF and experiment. It'll gain you a lot more than just dumping more power into a bad design will.

ok since its spl the XXX should be able to take a bit of power for a short ammount of time... personally ive only smelt the coil on the XXX when i played it loud for a while (using a T30001bd at both 4ohm and 1 ohm for a single sub)

im just letting you knwo my personal experiance... the T30001bd is rated at 1000w at 4 ohm and 3000w at 1 ohm. Its birthsheet is 3688w at 1ohm @14.4v and at a comp doing 3 runds right afer another (1 spl, 2 streetbeat) the lowest voltage i had at the battery was 11.9v at the end of the last run.

With that being said i had it hooked up at 1 ohm for some time and played it loud pretty often. I did a few straight up burps (mainly music but i think i might have done a sine wave here or there) and i wouldnt smell the coil. BUT i did smell the coil when i would play lil jon throw it up for a while AND i did smell said coil when it was ran off of 4 ohms as well. This leads me to belive the sub can take more then RMS for short blasts but it will not take 30 secs of overpowering. For spl it takes 5 seconds to get a score so it may work out.

all this sub will see is burps thats it
