Posted September 24, 200717 yr Ok well getting ready to start work on my van and looks like im going to have to make a few slightly changes. The plans were as followedMidbass 60-100hz : Sundown Audio SD-1 10" x4Mids 100-2500hz : PHL 2002 x2Mids/Highs 2500hz + : Image Dynamics CD1E Mini x2Mids/High Amps : Sundown 100.4 x3 (Bridged To Each Driver)Here is the problem, i dont have the space under the dash or anywere to mount my ID horns. I deffintly want to keep the midbass. So what i need is suggests for mids and highs drivers. What im looking for is an extremly loud and clean sound mids ands highs set up to keep up with my wall. Power will be coming from sundown amps. Corey Edited September 24, 200717 yr by SundownAudioNY
September 24, 200717 yr Author Honestly yes..... Looking for something loud and super clean sounding (for the level atleast). The reason i say this is i cant stand the sound of eminece speakers, loud and harsh.Budget is ~ $800Corey
September 24, 200717 yr What kind of vehicle is it and what alternative tweeter mounting locations were you considering?
September 25, 200717 yr I am not understanding how their isn't room for the horns in a van of all vehicles.
September 25, 200717 yr Author The under side of the dash on the newer astro are very very narrow. My id horns are over 5" too long.Corey
September 25, 200717 yr Loud and clean sounding doesn't tell me much, really...what have you heard before that you've liked?

September 25, 200717 yr Didn't think there was gonna be room. The horns were the best bet on keeping up with the wall honestly. How much room / what size mids can you fit ?

September 25, 200717 yr Author I mean they dont have to sound absolutly great in sq, just looking for something smooth and not harsh but still loud enough to keep up with my wall. Havnt done much with diy comps so im not sure what drivers to choice. I mean they dont have to sound as good as my rainbow cmx did or anything. Guess its just hard to explain.Corey
September 25, 200717 yr Oh , and are you wanting a properly staged front stage ( center image dead center , same width right & left yada yada ...) , or just music that sounds good ?

I have heard a 6W4P 6" selenium before that didn't sound bad . It was just way over powering in the system it was in. It was strong from about 85 -90hz up to 5-6khz. It might fit your bill , they are pretty cheap too, I believe the guy got them from PE for $32 each. Tweets ........... something metal dome is probably gonna be the best bet on keeping up.
September 25, 200717 yr This might fit the bill for a mid, but will require a pretty robust tweeter selection to get down to 3kHz or so to blend with it.http://www.bcspeakers.com/index.php?sez=1&...amp;prodotto=53Too bad you really can't get those ID horns to fit, they would work sweat together.
September 26, 200717 yr Admin I hope to have the MLI's and Seas Neo's in soon, but have to wait until I can afford Raamat.
