what would happen to the sound if i put either a 12" assasin or arsenal, hell, even a atlas or avalanche in a 1.5 cu ft ported box instead of their recommended sizes?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm either going with 1-12'' sealed or 1-10'' ported and I'm limited on space. Then I noticed the Havoc 12'' can be in 1.5ft^3 ported and it caught my eye.

Smaller ported boxes are generally less efficient at lower frequencies. But they are more efficient at a specific frequency. You could loose some low end extension, and it could feel less "boomy" but should be a tad bit more punchy. Just make sure you have enough port area.

my thoughts exactlly !!!

i use a small 3cf box @ 54Hz to do SPL due to the control i have over the cone. tight and accuret.

where as a 7cf box for 1 sub @ 36Hz is Hella Bass
