I actually sent an e-mail to sales many days ago and didn't get a reply, but after looking at the forum today for the first time I saw the pinned topic regarding mail delays, so figured I would post here.

Being out of car audio for a little while now, I decided to upgrade my setup. I was running a Cadence Z8000 (500WRMSx1) w/ two ID10v3's vented to spec @ 33hz. I replaced my Z8000 with a RF T5002, birth sheet measuring ~1100WRMS @2oh bridged (14.4VDC). I originally figured I'd get an IDMAX for this amp, but ran into a lot of hype on the Fi Q and I'm now almost convinced this is what I want.

Assuming you're familiar with the ID/IDQ lines, what enclosure spec would you recommend for a 12/15FiQ to retain that ID SQ? Due to my (lack of) box building skill and the challenge of getting the blend with the components, I'd like to stick with sealed to start out with unless the advantages of vented with this driver would make it worth while. The range you give is fairly wide for sealed box size, and I also see others on the forums going way outside of your range (like 2.2cuft sealed on the Q12). I'm basically looking for the tight and accurate ID response but on steroids for output, or a compromise inbetween. Space isn't a prob as it's in a large SUV.

Is the Q right for me and which size would be recommended considering all of the above?

Thanks

I'd go with something in the middle range of their sealed recommendation, you can always add polyfill to increase the "apparent" enclosure size.

Thanks, really looking for the "is the Q right for me?" answer based on the info and requirements I posted, although being the official Fi forum I'll expect some biased answers lol.

It sounds like it's right for you...very musical, you don't really need any of the options available beyond a copper voice coil.

Well I found enough reviews and ID comparisons to make up my mind. So the burning question is...

Considering ~1100WRMS and a sealed application, is the Q12 or Q15 my best bet? I'll assume the 15 might play the deeper notes a bit better, but I'm wondering about the power I'm giving them if I'll be taking a loss on the 15 in the extra power requirements getting it moving?

I'd go with as much cone area as you can fit in your situation...the amount of power you have is perfect for either size.

I agree with JimJ. I'm doing just that. Look @ my sig, I have the same set-up and couldn't be happier.

I had IDQ10 v.2s awhile back in a sealed box. If you like the IDQs...you'll love the Qs.

Yeah I noticed some threads you posted a while ago about being a previous IDQ user and was one of my deciding reasons for going ahead and ordering a 15Q on Saturday. Now the waiting game...=/

Say.. I noticed a thread from today where someone at Fi said Scott was at SEMA.. is this affecting order turn around times? Is the only one who can do builds?
