I have a 15 Fi Bl fully loaded. I have a Kicker ZX1500.1 amp to power it and 4 gauge stinger wire w/ 150amp in-line fuse. Several weeks ago i was bumpin around town, and my sub quit. I sent it in to Fi and they fixed it for me. (they never said, b/c they covered it under warranty, but i think they just reconed it) so i put it back in and have everything hooked up, but now when i turn the volume up to where i like it, it just doesn't do anything. a few notches down and it does fine, i would like to run it at 28, but it will only go on 25. (max volume 34) but when it quits, the green light is still on, and if i turn it back down it will hit again. sometimes it will hit an odd note when i have it up @ 27. I have no idea what it is, any help appreciated!

what happens exactly? when you turn the volume to 28 what are the notes coming out of the sub? any popping? If you managed to blow the BTL i'm guessing you're clipping the hell out of the signal, how did you set your gains?

he's got a BL..

If they reconed the sub.. did they use the same voice coils you had before? Its possible you wired it wrong and now its at a higher ohm load making the amp produce less power.

From what I can tell, it sounds like when he turns it up past a certain point, his amp is going into protection or something, because it isn't producing any sound. When he turns it back down, or when a soft note hits, then it produces sound.

Does sound like an amp issue, that could or could not be due to the sub. Check the ground/etc on amp, is ohm load ok?
