Posted November 9, 200718 yr hello i currently have one 18" bl in my trunk and the box pretty much takes up all of the usable space, i have this box :http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...mp;Fs=&CE=0Anyways i was wondering if it's possible to fit a second 18 while still keeping the box dimensions because i can't make it any bigger due to space restrictions..any help is appreciated..thanks
November 9, 200718 yr Nope. While they physically would fit, it wouldnt work well at all. A pair of 15s would do better... What do you have in the way of power?
November 9, 200718 yr Author a jl 1000/1 but i was thinking about selling it and getting 2 rf t1000's but i'm just going to stick with the 18 for now..what about putting a 10 back there with it?
November 27, 200718 yr Author how much bigger would i have to make the box to fit two? i can use alot of polyfill i just need to find a way to fit a second one in the trunk of a grand marquis because i ordered the d1 sub instead of d2 so i'd like to get another one so i can wire it to a 1 ohm load
November 27, 200718 yr you could fit 2 but sealed.if you fiberglassed everywall of the trunk i'm pretty sure you could gain about 14-17cubes to run them ported, but that's a WHOLE lot of fiberglassing and the box wouldn't be able to be taken out. though still be able to get 2 18's got any pics of your how much space your current setup is taking up?
November 27, 200718 yr Really looking at like 12 cuft as a minumum... Im sure you could fit that, but it would have to be built in the trunk.

January 20, 200818 yr Author i know its been a while but i've been busy..heres the pic of one side of the box. The other side looks identical, you think i can work anything out with this? Edited January 20, 200818 yr by boalova13
January 24, 200818 yr Still using only 7 cuft of net space for the pair? As I mentioned earlier.. they will physically fit, but wont work well at all. If you need a pair of something in their, reconing the 18 to a 25 and adding a second 15 would work in that space. You would gain about 30% in surface area as well as being able to double up the amps for a gain. Beyond that... not too much more can be done with 18s.Thanks,Scott
