What's up,

I've been lurking on this forum for a while just checking out some of the Fi products. I was strongly considering getting subs from here then I came up on a deal for IDQ's and I decided to jump on them. Now for the last few days, I've been back kicking around the idea of returning my subs and picking up some from here. Now here's my needs... I'm looking for 12" sub(s) that sound clean and punchy and can go low but I don't need them to be heard miles away. I'm thinking of going with a sealed enclosure, b/c I'm looking for more SQ than SPL, but I would still like for them them to get loud when asked. I was originally considering a Fi Q and I would drive it w/ the mono channel of my RF Power 1000 which is rated for 938 watts at 1 ohm, and then I came across your clearance on the X's and I was thinking about going with them. I know the X's are only rated for 300 watts but I'm figuring as long as I'm careful I can get away with giving them extra power. What do you guys recommend ? I have about $300 (the cost of the IDQ's) to spend and I need to do something very soon, before I'm out of the return period for my subs. Thx in advance for all of your help!!!

I don't see why the IDQ's wouldn't work for you...sounds like they'd be perfect.

Well there were 2 concerns that I had... the 1st being that I ordered 2 dvc 2-ohm subs which will only drop me to 2 ohms giving 708 watts, I meant to order dvc 4 ohm subs inorder to get a 1 ohm load. Secondly I've been getting mixed reviews on the IDQ's, I've heard alot of people saying that they didn't get the input from them that they expected.

I've had IDQs and currently have a Q. The only major difference is the Q is louder and requires/handles more power.

The IDQs are very capable and great sounding subs. I'd stick with the IDQs if you don't care about being heard from a mile away.

If you had not purchased the IDQs already, I'd suggest the Q. $259 for a Q12 vrs $300 for 2 IDQs...the Fi Q is a better value.

bigjae... that actual cost for 2 subs was $339.00 and I still can return them up until the 11/16, do you think I should and just get a Q?

If you can return them and get two IDQ's in dual 4, I'd do that.
