Posted November 25, 200717 yr I should have some information up tomorrow for the IXL-15.2.2. It will begin with a EB-based design with some real-life measurements. I will follow through in the coming days with some testing of the IXL in-car. Nearfield, frequency response, impedance and other info will follow.Best,Mark
November 25, 200717 yr Author Its getting late so I don't think I will be able to do the testing today. The EBS enclosure is complete and the car box is close. I simply cannot deny Sean his request, so here are a couple of pics Here, the 18" enclosure dwarfs the 15"
December 5, 200717 yr Author Sorry its taking longer than I anticipated. I will have full disclosure this weekend.

December 9, 200717 yr Author So here are some results:EDIT: Double-checked my measurements - new volume postedFirst test box was a 130 litre (4.6 cubic feet) Sonosub with a 20Hz tuning. Tests were done near field (microphone 1 inch from driver and port). Yellow is the driver output; green is the port:As you can see, there is some pretty good output down low. Once you factor in room gain, output in the nether regions should be quite audible. Listening to the Sonosub, we found that the driver sounded quite good up to 120Hz.Here is the impedance curve:
December 9, 200717 yr Author Next up, we have a 90 litre (3.2 cube) enclosure tuned to 29Hz.Here's a quick shot of Mr. Frankenbox:Once again, the frequency response is done near field. The driver response is yellow; the port output is green:Looking at the port curve, it appears like the mic is picking up some info from the driver as well. To verify this, I shoved the mic inside the port, but the response curve came out nearly identical. Here is the impedance curve of the driver inside the box:
December 17, 200717 yr mark i see you have not learned your lesson about, do not put things that might break on top of big bertha there:P but nice box non the less
September 6, 200817 yr thx that would be great , ill be running 4 ohm mono single driver, looking forward to losing the trunk
May 2, 200916 yr Just a personal update here. I had a 2.5 cube gross @ 27hz(3cubes is recommended) box sitting here and decided to give this driver a try in this box. Now granted I have more power on tap than this driver truely requires(1200rms).I have yet to notice any decrease in output at any freq given the small nature of the box.So for those who can sacrafice a bit of efficency, IMO you can use a slightly smaller box. This thing wangs hard!
