Posted November 29, 200717 yr I'm a total front stage noob. Literally. But, I'm really thinking of new things that I can do to my truck to improve its front stage. It doesn't particularly matter to me whether it is a component set or set of speakers that are to be run in an active setup.I happen to like airy and not harsh tweeters, a smooth midrange, and a strong midbass presence. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks,Brandon Edited November 29, 200717 yr by bdawson72
November 29, 200717 yr Admin People here are Seas/Vifa/Dayton/Mach5 fans. Do you have size restrictions, mounting depth, budget? SSA is going to say active. Going SAX-100.4?
November 29, 200717 yr Author If i decide to go active it will definitely be a 100.4But, I don't particularly have any size restrictions.
November 29, 200717 yr Author I'll probably still use my 100.2 for my midbasses though. If at all possible.
November 30, 200717 yr Suggestions...I'd say try 8" mid bass. Then you can run smaller passive or active over them, or 3" full range if you can get them aimed at you some. That is next on my list. Are you interested mostly in SQ? I am but like it kind of loud now and then to vent, and like plenty of bottom.
November 30, 200717 yr Author I'm not an sq freak but, I enjoy it.I'm just not familiar with a lot of the drivers that many of people run here when they go active. That was the main reason for me making this thread.
December 5, 200717 yr Admin If it helps, Dave Edwards is going full Vifa front stage IIRC, Nick (NDMstang) did a Vifa front also a while back, sounded awesome. I am going with the Seas textile 1" Neo dome, MLI mid-bass, and thinking about going 3way..
