id like to know why my 4000 watt amp wont push 1 15 Bl fully loaded without blowing both my 40 amp fuses in it.

how's ur electrical under the hood?

what ohm load are you imposing on the amp ?

is it a mono block ?

2ch ?

4 ch?

is the amp properly grounded ?

do you have enough voltage ?

are the speaker wires touching ?

14.4v x 80a = 1152 at 100% efficiency, assuming its a class d at 80%, that amp could only push 920 watts before blowing fuses. Even still, your system probably doesn't even do 14.4 constantly, most likely 13.8. 4K is far off.

Don't look at peak ratings!

i have a 4000 watt 2 channell lanzar amp...not the best brand. But my friend has the same amp and he is running 2 Diamond audio D9's off of it and they do just fine...Then when i tried plugging my Bl into His amp i blew his fuses too...my ground is fine.

i havent put the sub in a box yet...i was free airing it, but still, i shouldnt be blowing 40 amp fuses one after another.

What impedance are the Diamond subs, and how are the wired to the amp???? What impedance are the BL coils and how are they wired to the amp????

Sorry, but it is obvious from your posts so far that you better get help before you continue. You are going to blow the amp, sub, or both. . . .

Provide a specific model number of the amp, the voice coil impedance of the BL you have, and how you have it wired. Sounds like you may have the amp running below the rated minimum load. . .If you have the coils in parallel and the amp running bridged, there may be a problem.

I have the sub wired like this....i have a negative to negative on the sub, then positive to positive, then a negative and a postive to the amp at 4 OHMs

I bet you have it wired to 1 ohm. Wire it to 4 ohms and run it bridged.

You have a dual two ohm sub wired in parallel. That is 1 ohm.

If you are running the amp bridged, it is seeing 0.5 per channel!!

You need to wire the sub coils in series. Positive from the amp to positive on coil one of the sub. negative on coil one of the sub to positive of coil two on the sub. negative on coil two of the sub back to the negative on the amp.

get a better amp, if you underpower that sub you will blow it.. just as easy to blow a sub underpoweing as over powering

well not technically underpowering it, maybe clip it to death by trying to get more out than it is capable

Yea underpowering a sub wont hurt it, technically you underpower a sub when you don't have the volume on the deck up very high, it is just way easier to over gain your amp when underpowering it.

In that case, if the amp goes into clipping, it's no longer "underpowering" anything and the sub still dies from thermal failure

Sending a driver power that's below its thermal rating will never hurt it...unless the manufacturer lied, made a defective product, or you installed the sub in a situation like IB where you run into mechanical limits first. I ran 8 watts with lots of 2nd-order distortion to a pair of 100W-rated Klipsch towers for a year, and guess what? They didn't die

LAIR! lol only joking...but i am curiou to ask...what is second order distortion? or even first order? was it maybe some kind of distortion like humming from a tube amp? just wondering, especially with 8 watts i figured maybe tubes

that amp hooked up to just one bl should be fine...power wasnt a problem it was my dumb ass that wired the sub to a 1 ohm impedence, and didnt realize it.

im plannin on selling this bl and buying a 15 btl hooked up to a US amps xt4000d, sound good?
