I have a few questions about the Fi X series subs... I am going to buy 2 of the 12" and would like to know a few things before I purchase... The number one thing is... How much power is too much? I know Scott said not to expect super power handling but I mean is 400 RMS fine? How about 500 RMS? I know with most subs 200 rms over is no problem but that is 2/3 again the RMS rating on these so I was just wondering... Also, would you classify these as more spl or sq? I know it is probably not extremely high spl or sq but for the price you cant beat it... Im gonna be putting these in a 1cf per sub box with polyfil in it and pushed by either 300 or 400 RMS a piece... What kind of output can I expect? I might think of a few more questions but this is all for now... I guess if anyone else has some questions about these just post them in here cause the thread about their clearance has like 4 pages now.... Also, how many of the 12" are left?

I wouldn't do more than 400. They are definitely geared toward efficiency and sq than spl. We have 1200 going to a trio of X12"s and they are doing just fine. They will let you know when you are pushing them too far, so set your gains correctly and pay attention until you find the performance threshold. I should add that they are sealed too. I have no recommendations for ported, but I would venture to say less than 400 in that scenario.

Feel free, your avatar is a nice addition to the thread. :D

I think I know what it is, but just to clarify, wtf is it? lol

Enable Avatars and check that puppy out for yourself. My description would do it no justice.

If I only have to spend $33 to get 100rms more on each one, do you think it would make a difference? On ebay I can get 2 kicker kx300.1 for like $190 shipped and 2 kx400.1 for like $220 shipped... Would there be an audible difference?

It's your choice on which amp you buy. Either will work. I would opt for the 400 to give yourself some wiggle room though. In the end it is dependent on your budget.

$30 wont break the budget but I think my dad just did... Looks like im just getting some new front speakers instead... He says that if its too good to be true it probably is and there is not arguing with him... He seems to think its a waste of money to buy subs... "Why can't you just spend $100 on an amp and another $100 on a sub?" Lol, I need new front speakers anyways so I guess it isn't that bad cause he is willing to spend about $200 on them... EDIT: Also, how much output would 1 12" Fi X have? If I could run one of them then I really could spend $200 on the subs and amp cause the kicker 400.1 is like $110 shipped... Is there any other subs that would be about $100 that would have decent output and be less than 6" mounting depth?
