so i live in the south TEXAS, and i have never taken my audio out in the winter, but a friend of mine is from the north, and he was telling me everyone he knowns in the north takes there subs and amps out of there car and keeps them in tha house, until spring, yall ever heard of that?

see thats what i told him, but then today i was looking at craigslistings in the north and i see a few people that were saying the same in there sales pitch, like garage kept type deal.

i thought clearly there must be more to this, or maybe its a yankee thing

I think if sweating in the amps was an issue you'd also see headunits, ECU's, etc, etc having that problem as well.

WTF ??? i have never taken mine out !!! if anything cold weather helps keep the amps from going into protection from overheating

Two years in Montana (27 below was the high on Christmas day the last year I was there) and no problems. When it gets cold, humidity drops really low, first off, and second condensation occurs when the surface is colder than the surrounding humid air, not on warm surfaces in cold air.

Never heard of that. I used to always store my summer car with all that stuff in it for the winter, and not heated. Cars don't rust under 32F as long as there is not salt on them. You do need to make sure the car is dry inside before you store it, and will not get water in it. Otherwise you will find a rain forest inside the car. I never have beat on the stereo before the car got warmed up though.

Although a good point made was that u do need to make sure the inside of ur car is dry, but this goes for over night sittin as well.

Otherwise yea ur insides is gonna be all fogged up and what not.

I;m sure it might work the same if water got into ur trunk...hmmmm....mythubusters
