Posted January 10, 200817 yr Im running a single sundown 1500saz for now, but might get a second in the future. My vehicle is an ex. cab S10 that I can fit roughly 7-7.5 cube ported box in. Im wanting the most SPL out of my setup and I am comparing 2 15" SSD's against a single 18" BTL. I know my 1 amp wont push the BTL to its limits, but it should do very well with the SSD's.My question is will I get the loudest results running the Sundown at 0.5 ohm (18-1900 watts) with 2 15" SSD's or a single BTL 18??thanks in advance!Cody Edited January 10, 200817 yr by 01 S 10
January 10, 200817 yr 2 ssd 15's based on cone areabut why dont u just do 2 bl15'sit will better handle the power 80
January 10, 200817 yr Author 2 ssd 15's based on cone areabut why dont u just do 2 bl15'sit will better handle the power 80I didnt think I would have enough power with just one 1500 to power 2 15"s BL's good enough. Also price I need to keep in mind too, I would be jumping up another $150 (without mods) over the SSD'sBUT, if the BL's will definetely outperform the SSD's on about 800 watts each, I could save up longer and get those... what options should I choose for the BL's??
January 11, 200817 yr Don't have enough power for the BL'sThe SSD's will work fine for you with that amp.Thanks!-Nick
January 18, 200817 yr Personally....and this is just persoanlly. I'd run the two SSDs in an Iso-Loaded Single Reflex Bandpass. I'd do 1.5ft^3 sealed and 4ft^3 ported..that would leave you a cube to play with port size/tuning. Ported Enclosures.....who needs them?
January 18, 200817 yr I'd run the two SSDs in an Iso-Loaded Single Reflex Bandpass.Do you mean a 4th order?
January 18, 200817 yr Were running 2 12" SSD's on a SAZ-1500 @ .5 ohm and they get LOUD and take it all say long, not even the slightest smell of a warm VC. They did a Term-LAB verified 145.3db on music.
January 19, 200817 yr nice score. i cant wait to get my ssd's installed in the blazer - going to try and do the 149.9 bass race class with 4 of the 15's, without a wall - 2 x sundown 1500's for power. What type of vehicle was that in and what type of box did you use?
