Posted January 17, 200817 yr It's been a few months since Scott posted about the 10" spiders. Are they here yet? I have a 12" Eclipse basket with a variation of the TC9 motor and a pair of 15" Lightning Audio/TC-3000 baskets with 3HP neo motors that need recone kits. Also, since these are not the standard baskets that Fi uses, will I have to send in the subs for the recones or can a kit be built?-Robert
January 17, 200817 yr I think you need to send in the 3HP motor for machining or something. That would be if he was trying to convert to the 12 spoke basket...If he wants to use TC sounds basket then he would need a 10 inch spider which I do remember FI saying they may get some in but as to when would be a question im sure only the people at FI can answer.
January 17, 200817 yr Author I think you need to send in the 3HP motor for machining or something. Like Jybfan04 said, that would be for conversion from the 4 hole mount to the 6 hole mount to match the 12 spoke basket. I have a huge drill press that I've been using since 1983 and a tap/die set. Drilling a few holes doesn't bother me. I will have to drill and tap the side mount holes in my neo magnets. I'm in the process of designing a jig so I can get the holes identical each and every time.-Robert
January 17, 200817 yr Author At least they are coming. That gives me time to tap the motors and paint the baskets.-Robert
January 8, 200916 yr Hi Robert, wondering if you still had the jig for drilling the Neo mag for the TC basket?I'm looking to install an LA neo mag on a TC-3000.Any chance you'd be willing to drill one for me?I know its kind of a random question probably much after the fact of you having done yours, however, I don't have access to a drill press. Who better than someone who's done it.Thanks in advance!Cheers - Erik
January 8, 200916 yr Yep, we can machine for the Neos to 12 spoke still. As for the 10" spiders. We have a few of them in now and are tooling another version of them for 3" coils as well. Biggest issue at this point is that I dont have standard coils with formers long enough for the "Eclipse/TC" style baskets. But thats changing too since I will be using those since we bought the patent for them. 10" spider spacers are on the way as well. Thanks,Scott
