January 20, 200817 yr Author but i really really want them! what about the maw 15's? i guess ill go with the 15's if i have to. any other suggestions about the mjs. please please i really really want them!
January 21, 200817 yr You could do 2-15's ported to 32hz and be fine with the space you have. 2 18's... you'd have to go sealed.
January 21, 200817 yr Admin If you are dead set on porting, it would be wise to go with the 15's I think. But I have an MJ18 sealed and it does very well.
January 21, 200817 yr The recommended size for the MJ18 ported is 128 litres (4.5 cu. ft.) 30Hz tune. His box internal size is 9.3 cubic feet. Why is everyone saying he can't do a dual ported? What am I missing here? Edited January 21, 200817 yr by Mike P.

January 21, 200817 yr Yup, and even to cut back an inch or two to make sure your box will fit, you will end up with ~8.8 cubes - should be enough. If you're after more SPL tune the box to 35Hz. Internal dimensions should be 40" x 20" x 19". Make your port 5.5" x 99sq inches and 17" long. It obviously won't fit in the front, but I'm sure you can work the dimensions around so you can fit the port in.
January 21, 200817 yr Considerably? Allowing 1.3 cubic feet for subs and porting still gives him a 8 cubic foot box. Close enough.

It takes port area into consideration. That leaves the drivers, which is minimal to non-existent.Best,Mark
