Posted January 24, 200817 yr Alright so my Recone kit for my BTL came from Fi Today, but its missing the most important thing, it has no alignment Jig, what do i do now? i have no way to align the coil in the gap properly, what do other people use for there recone
January 24, 200817 yr Manilla folders..cut them so they don't overlap inside of the coil and i think the BL needs 2 layers of it, i can't remember right off hand..it might need 3Just leave them long so you have something to pull out once the glue dries..Thanks!-Nick

January 24, 200817 yr Manilla folder thickness varies by company. You simply want things to be as snug as possible, but not so tight that you rip things trying to remove them. You can make up some thickness if an extra layer is too much by using tape. Wrapped around at several points, electrical tape is about 3/4 the folder thickness and scotch tape is about 1/4. You can tweak from there.As mentioned by Nick, make sure that the folders dont overlap as this will push things off to one side.Thanks,Scott
