No problem Bro... I'm all about the layman reviews... LOL

Is the H900 the upgrade for the H701 or is it a different company? Is it just better overall, or better technically for competitors? I'm wondering because I'm going to be going active for the first time, and wondering which processor is the most beginner friendly. I'm not competing or anything, just want a nice sounding ride =)

BTW, Scott's customer service is top notch! Will be going Hybrid Audio front stage =)

My personal opinion is that the H701/C701 combo is the way to go for your first processor versus the H900. Very simple interface, easy to set up. Plenty of options for processing, plenty of input and output solutions. Better find one soon though. I understand Alpine quit making them.

Can you use the H900 with a non-alpine HU like you can the 701? I've debated going with a higher end HU but finding a processor to take up the slack that they leave off has been a bitch.

Yes, the H900 can be used with pretty much anything. It has optical and analog inputs, so you're good to go.

If I remember correctly, the H990 can only be used with it's matching head unit...

Ok, so there aren't many good options for processors eh. That sucks, was hoping not to have to buy 2 pieces to get it compatible with my head unit but if I have to, I have to.

Could always go the Zapco route too with that amp that has the onboard digital processing. Not an ideal situation, but certainly another option.

Audison is putting out a processor that may be in your price range... I've no experience with it though... the Bit One.

Believe it should be around $800 if I remember correctly.

Add $350 for the optional frequency corrector (don't know how it's called)
