Here is the car and the current sub :

He's planning adding one more woofer and competing in espl, something similar to bass race (track chosen by the judges). Basically, I'm looking for some ideas on woofer and port orientation from the ones that have some spl experience :D

Right now his top score is 144db @ 36hz, db-drag style, using a single 3kw Ground Zero 1.3000 and one 15inch 4hp clone by Ground Zero (Plutonium 15). Final gear will be 2 subs and 2 Atomic 5000.1's.

What port and woofer orientation ideas do you guys have ?

Even some tips would be really nice :D

Upfiring drivers, rear-firing port?

If it were me I'd take a weekend and build three or four different configurations of enclosures and see how they do...

Some have seen success with rear firing port (huge sewer pipe sized) one driver loading drivers side, the other driver front firing in a small box. There is something about the design that fights impedance rise.

So one driver faces the drivers side (AKA the rear most drivers side window) while the other driver is front firing (IE: into the rear seats)??

Strange.... it this typical of wagon/SUV type vehicles?

Thanks for the ideas but unfortunately the whole deal is on a hold right now.

An "installer" kept telling my friend that he's going to measure the interior of the car and check the reflections, all to help his score, but it seems to me like there's a hint of bs... :(
