i have a fosgate t8002 amp right now but i plan on upgrading somewhere down the line...i want to run a one sub setup....i really want a 18 but am i underpowering it for now up until i upgrade my wattage?....will a 15 sound better and louder since im not pumpin that much power into it?....also...what do i buy a dual 1 sub or dual 2 sub...also what series is best for me....the q or bl or ssd.....it is going in a 85 cutlass...i listen mostly to rap...thanks

I'd say a Q 15" or 18" would be fine for that amp. I use to have one and it was rated 1100+ RMS @ 2 ohms. You could get the dual 1 ohm version of the sub and wire it in series for a 2ohm load. I was told the Q's can be used in a sealed box and require alot less air space than either of the other ones you mention- which are required to be in ported boxes.

You can seal the SSD if you like as well, and if he listens to mostly rap.. he's going to want a ported box.

look @ my sig. I love it, so no problem with your amp unless you're going with a BTL for power reasons

I think that would is a good choice although the dual 2 coils will only work at 4 or 1ohm isn't that amp only 2ohm stable if so then maybe try to get the coils switched to dual 1 instead
