Posted February 13, 200817 yr Hey guys i got my SPL12 in today sorry i wont have pics till the morning but its going in a Jeep liberty powered by a Kicker zx2500.1 in 3cubes tuned around 38hz. I really wanted to try this sub and see if its a little more bearably for daily use then my DD9512f. As soon as iam done with the install i should have pics and a vid or too.
February 13, 200817 yr Admin The proto did well for me daily when I got to test it. I think it is a hell of an SPL biased sub that is still under the radar.
February 13, 200817 yr Not to steal the thread, but since some are asking for pics, here's mine next to last years spl sub. (not really a spl sub, but it served me well.) Can't wait to get the rest of my gear to try it out and start building boxes.
February 13, 200817 yr Author Dang work called me in early so i hope i will be able to do a little bit after work since the weather is going to be nice today. My first impressions of the sub is WOW. The suspension is very stiff and you got to love the the gun metal colored basket and motor. There isnt a single sub ive ever seen that has a better build quality for the price. I wish i had a TL so i could do some camparison on the mic instaed of by ear and Usaci isnt coming out here until the begining of april so i could do a little SB1 work. This is the first Mach 5 product ive had the pleasure of owning and it wont be the last!Will have pics by 1900 central time! I mean 7pm.Jose

February 15, 200817 yr Author I got it installed today and all i can say is Son of a Bitch!!! This thing gets stupid loud but still remains a nice daily sub. Iam not saying it has the best SQ but it sounds much better then my last sub(DD9512f) Iam not knocking the DD in fact i think the DD sounds a little louder to my ears but the SPL12 is just insane with out my car sounding like a fart box. I play some rock, Hip-hop and even some smooth listening and it was great considering its a SPL based driver. Sorry i cant post pics right now since Iam at work and dont have access to photobucket but ill post a pic and vid tonight. Mark I give you tons of respect on this woofer and iam now hooked on Mach 5 Audio. I wish I had a TL to do some real testing but Ill just have to wait till Usaci comes to town in April.Jose
February 15, 200817 yr Glad you like it. It seems to be surprising the few folks who actually purchased them.I don't think your unit has been fully broken in yet given the fact that it has switched hands a couple of times and has little to no use on it.Keep us updated as time goes on...Best,Mark

The sub is far from being broken in. I bet it will sound alot smoother when that time comes. Ill keep you posted.
