February 20, 200817 yr This all reminds me of a funny story. About 12 years ago when i knew nothing about audio a friend gave me his 15" sub to hold onto while he was away. So i decided to hook it up to my home tuner and see what that puppy could do. The tuner was rated at 110 watts into 8 ohms but I have no idea how the sub was wired. Needless to say, it absolutely pounded! Like nothing i've ever heard before! For 15 minutes i had a smile on my face from ear to ear! That was before all the sparks and stuff, lol... Explaining to him how i blew up his baby would have sucked, but i never had to do it. He was doing 3-5 FTW! To this day i don't think he's ever asked me what happened to it. And ironically, i don't think he'd care right now cause he's doing another stretch in the pokey. I guess it just feels like home, FTL...

Well.....you know we could have tried this at your place........Who cares if the carpet would have caught fire .....Its being replaced.Damn we need a vid of this!!!!Now that we know the story I will offer my apologies to wasted, and Give mark a smack when I see him......LOL......

February 21, 200817 yr Author I just gave it another 4 ~30 second burps with about 5 seconds in between each.. then the breaker went again.. I gotta wait until the guy living downstairs gets home to flip 'er back on.. I'm kinda sketchy about plugging it into the 220 though. There's something about sticking to wires into an outlet that scares me... But who knows..either way.. Right now she's still trucking.
February 21, 200817 yr Crazy stuff. Must have been a lot of back pressure on the back side of the dustcap. Probably just pulled the protective layer over the paper off.

February 22, 200817 yr Author it FINALLY went.. It took about another 15 minutes on the wall... then we pulled it out of the enclosure, and it took about another 4 or 5.. A lot of smoke came off of that puppy.
