I don't know what to choose for my 07 yaris sedan

soundstream LOS 6.5 component $235

Soundstream Xtream Component $188

Focal Access 1 component $224

Focal Polyglass Coax $217

if i go for focal should i go for the acess component or the polyglass coax because these two have the same price.

Anyone heard the soundstream before?

If you can move up to a component, I usually suggest it. But I have not heard any of the ones listed, maybe someone who has can chime in.

Have you listened to the Focals?

The tweeters really aren't for everyone...but out of those I would suggest the Access set run actively.

I want loud and clean at hi vol so far im using 6.5 soundstream tarantula. when installed in my prelude the speaker on the driver's side is louder than the passanger's side but on my new yaris the passanger side is louder than the driver's side.

will component sover the prob if i locate the tweet on the a pillar?

i just replace the original speaker using 6.5 adapter

the soundstream already sounds good and loud from the HU

Mayb because of the HU DSP, SRT and LIVE what ever that is makes a better sound but caused the passenger side to be louder but sounds better overall

Is the focal good for direct HU setup its just temporarily

until i my cars warrnty is over so that i could connect my amp

"Loud & clean" really isn't going to happen with a head unit internal amp.

installed lightning audio 300.4, so which speaker to get, testing doesnt help much coz it will not sound the same inside the car or outside in an open space, they test it in a room which could also afffect the sound. Focal promo end diz month

Is the focal 165V1 component worthit?????? Need answer today so i can buy tomorow before promotion ends

got the focal 165v1 and it sound much better than using my co-ax tarantula, sound cleaner and for some song eg nickleback just turn the treble down on the HU and it will be ok. Using stock yaris player and using front chanel w/ install edge HiLo converter and split it for my 4ch amp.

It sound better by switching on LIVE and SRT.

Cant wait to get the pioneer deh-p5000ub mayb it will sound better. I choose it over the alpine because of the usb and it almost have the same option eg. crossover w/ the same priced alpine

Read about this active setup and just want to know how much different should i expct over the passive crossover.

What do i need and how do i set it up?

my current setup stock HU w/ only front hi lo converter, use Y splitter to feed the 4 ch.

Im tinking buy a 4ch with hipas, lo pass and frequency multiplier.

front: frequency multiplier for the tweet and hi pass for the 6"?

setup the mid bass to it max potential 1st and set the tweet to match the mid bass. Is that how you tune it??

Can i do it without a HU that have 3way setup?

Huh?

If you are asking about using amp crossovers you can, but I'd highly recommend using ones in a good headunit instead.

One other warning, I guarantee with no tuning that an active setup will sound worse; however, it will have the capability to sound way better. If you do go the active route though I would NEVER recommend buying a set of passive components and running them active. Picking your own drivers is a much better way to go.

Yep, picking your own drivers has a MUCH better bang for the buck. You can spend a ton still if you desire, or you can go with a budget system & still get way more driver for the dollar than any prepackaged passive from a major manufacturer.

But yes, at minimum, I would use a head unit that is active capable, like the Pioneer 880prs, Alpine Bass Engine Pro units, some Eclipses, Ural, etc. I know there is a list going somewhere around here.
