Posted February 21, 200817 yr So, looking to get some thing ordered.gonna run an Orion 2500d, and I'm thinking that Load Boss might cut it. Its rated at 220A, and 110 @ idle. but I have heard people testing the 220's @ 238A. would that be sufficient for the orion or would I need more... cause those Iraggi's are like 3X more....another funny thing...from the manf. quotes...LB, 110A @ 800rpm, 220A @ 1600rpm built, Denso, 70A @ 800rpm, 165A @ 1600rpm......? huh.... its a 280A btw.also, thinking about running a 1/0 knuconcept collosus, Pos. & Neg. from front batt. to amp/back batt.(or/and batcap). Is this worthwhile? I imagine its a much better ground.

February 22, 200817 yr i dont run a name brand alt ..... but i do have a h/o. it works just fine OEM alt 135 amps @1800rpm.h/o 110@idol and 200amps@1800

February 22, 200817 yr Running a full length ground will, in most cases carry less resistance than the body of the car.Agreed.I've seen this method provide an extra 2 volts to the rear batts.This, and the big 3 are the most cost effective methods to beef up your electrical system.I don't have any experience with the alternator though.Good Luck

February 22, 200817 yr thats what i was thinking... cause if adding a run of wire will take me from 14 to 16 volt ill go to the local audio shop and pay there crazy price tonight for wire!

February 23, 200817 yr Had a Load Boss 180Amp alt on my old Silverado, and it had a sheet that showed full output was 193 Amps at 1800RPM's...Loved it, still have it being unused currently sitting in my garage.. for a 99-02 Silverado 4.3L v-6.Went with X-Cessive Amperage on the Sebring since Load Boss didnt offer anything for my Sebring, but I'm going back to Load Boss for my Blazer.I did the full run of ground on my Sebring...good thing to do if you haven't , helps a bit.Awesome Alt's for an awesome price from Load Boss, and best thing is , they are located right in my back yard...... thumbs up to them.
