O just for giggles i built a lil oh 3cu tuned to 34hz box. .

threw it in teh car hooked it up and it gets loud about as loud as my sealed 2 sub box..

But the thing i hate hate hate is that, it only does this at the higher hz's.

Like low low bass plays but it doesn't rattle anything ect ect...

I think my 18's had me spoiled though and i could just be being biased, lol :madrofl:

So to compensate for the lows what would be a better tuning for my needs..28? or should i just go back to 18's

I haven't had anything that resembles a system in over a year, but last thing I had was an Atlas 12, around 2 cubes tuned to 32. I loved it. It was quite loud, to the ear anyway, in the Jeep I had, and sounded great IMO.

I don't know what size sub your using now because you didn't specify. But i recently went from four 10's sealed to a single 15" tuned to 28hz and i'll never go back... Love the lows! It's 15"+ or bust from here on out for me :P

2 15's 7 foot after displacment, 33 hrz makes sounthren rap sound like angels to my ears

Street Beat - 4 15's tuned to 36Hz, peaking at 46Hz 154 dB capable at .6ohms

Competitions - 2 15's tuned to 55Hz, peaking at 65Hz 155-156 dB capable at .6ohms :bananaDance::bananaDance:

Gonna be crazy... :bananaDance:

What subs were you using in the box?

My bad for not specifying, but it was a BTL...

I know they are not supposed to be sealed but that was what i had them in for a while.

They were loud within a range and didn't peak very much on any song.

The ported box, just seems to like higher bass notes.

So would one say that the bigger the box the lower tones are gonna be in retrospect to the tuning that is.

the larger the box, the more efficient the box becomes but can lower power handling mechanically if not careful.

My last setup was 1 15 7.5cubes @29hz loved it.

from the BTL I have in the car right now at 8.6cu.ft total @ 46hz port it doesnt sound good... but tuned at 32hz it sounds better but they dont like playing music at high volume... Id change to a sub like th Q if u want good sound

I got 3 kw on it

for a boxx that small im going to assume you have 12" sub ?

IMO you should go bigger with more SQin port !!!

small boxx's dont do it for me :)

im rollin dailly @ 36Hz / 7cf / 1- 15"

Though I would prefer some kind of 15 because they dig down good and low

Just wait until you get those BIB's done, it'll blow your mind about what cone area can actually do given the right enclosures ;)
