Posted February 25, 200817 yr I would like to see what you all think about this decision I made.....:I recently traded in my two new 12" type R's that were powered by a single RF 1000rms amp. for a newly purchased 12" bl loaded. I will be using the same RF1000 amp. (as that is all I have right now) with this BL 12" when arrives. Did I make a good decision? I mean will this new single speaker out perform and be louder with heavier bass than my previous "best-buy" setup. I will be saving up for a second 12"BL and second RF1000 rms amp, but jsut wanted to know if it will be noticably louder and deeper.......Thanks...gary
February 25, 200817 yr Who knows. You're sacrificing cone area, but given certain install conditions either one could be louder.

February 25, 200817 yr I can tell you that a single JL 10W7 blew a pair of 10" Alpine type R subs right out of the water using the same amp in my setup. it's not always about cone area...

I am pretty new to this whole car audio stuff, at least the quality stuff any way.....all info is greatly appreciated!!!! i am addicted to this whole BASS thing! Any current project cars you know of for sale?GaryIMO u will be under powering that sub with that amp... find a friend to sell it to and get your self a sundown 1500 or any true 1500 watt amp but it depends on alot more then just the type of sub,. power. signel, box and more!
