Posted February 25, 200817 yr Hi, I was wondering if there was a 15" sub that can fit in a smaller box than an IDQ15" (1.25cuft gross) ThanksKelvin
February 26, 200817 yr I bet the IDQ15 sounds like butt in that small of an enclosure. It isn't even that impressive in the right size enclosure much less when it is choked.
February 26, 200817 yr Author Just for my own info. I listen to a lot of house, electro, trance, hardcore trance kind of music. Wanted to know your opinion.
February 26, 200817 yr In that space there are a lot of 12's that would work and I'd stick with them.
February 26, 200817 yr Author Now I'm torn between 2xRL-i8's S4 (1cuft sealed with 1000rms) or 1xSI Mag new gen D2 (1cuft sealed with 600rms) Which would you guyz choose?
February 26, 200817 yr Not that you'll be able to get either for an unknown amount of time here, but I'll stick with Jim.
February 26, 200817 yr Admin I agree, go with a 12 if you want a single sub install. If you don't want to wait for the RL-i 8 to get back in stock or the MAG to hit production, there is always the RL-p 12.
February 26, 200817 yr Author I've been waiting for the RL-i8 since Sept 2007 lol. Therefore, I'll go with the first available. Soundsplinter or Stereo Integrity.
February 27, 200817 yr TC Sounds had a woofer, 5200 series I believe, the 15 only needed .8cubes because the motor force was so strong, something like 400newtons. They said the enclosure only needed to be big enough to physically fit the driver. However they needed a ton of power, about 2k+ I think. It had some serious output though, 30+mm one way BL limited xmax and 45+ mechanical xmax.
