Posted March 1, 200817 yr I'm just curious as to why the Universal option isn't on the subs by default? It doesn't cost any extra money, yet i do not see any disadvantages of having it done to a sub even if you do not want it.So... is there any disadvantage of having it even if someone doesn't want it?

March 2, 200817 yr We normally machine the motors to a specific tolerence for each coil. As the coils do vary in OD, you cant stick a D2 High Xmax coil in the D1 gap. But with this option we machine things for the largest OD coil and this allows you to recone to any size without issue. On the ame note, a slight decrease in motor strength sometimes increases overall SPL with the BTLs for daily applications...less saddle shaped response curve. Thanks,Scott
