Its just that the sub seems it can handle a assload more than 500

If you really have to ask how much the sub will take.. you shouldn't be sending that much to the sub.

Experience will tell you when to back off on the power. It doesn't sound like you're to that stage yet.

they take way more than 500 i have a orion 2500d on my 15s and they dont get warm at all i swear

Maybe try a 10" chaos? Although 1200 will still be a little much for that as well.
