Posted March 10, 200817 yr Here goes to the start of deadening my 02 Z71. Lots of deadening going in.155 Sq ft. Raammat5 or 6 Yards Ensolite5 gallons and 1 quart of SpectrumGM's way of trying to stop you from removing the rear bolts on the front seats an 11mm 12 point did the trick. Also the front nuts on the front seat are removable with 15mm 12 point.Carpet is not so clean lolWhen I saw this clip for the first time I thought "I'll come at you like a spider monkey!"The rear light needs to be removed before dropping the headliner to disconnect the lightMore pics to come
March 10, 200817 yr man compare to FJ your floors are really flat, looks like it will fairly easy to get it done up. Do twice what you are thinking on the roof, and go up as high on the fire wall as you can get....I put in 240 sq. ft. of damplifier pro, 36 sq. ft. of overkill pro, a gallon of spectrum, 6 sheets of luxury liner, 3 cans of spray foam, and a whole bunch of insulation....my sound deadener install part 1this was a few extras I did later, kind of a long readpart 2.this is what I did last week.part 3, with some new equipment to go with it.... March 14, 200817 yr Author UpDaTe!!!What I started with this morn (Thanks TMAX for doing this)Not much to see, but this is the door I didMy friend did the whole back wall and some of the floor (there is much more of the floor done now, just didn't take a pic yet)Got quite a bit done today, but I will not be done by the end of this week. I just know. So I am trying my hardest to finish the floor so I can get carpet and seats back in and I will be able to work on the Headliner and such during the week.Gotta a Question for you Silverado owners. How do you get the plastic at the front of the floor out (looks like a form of stock deadening. I want to get under there with mat)

March 23, 200817 yr Nice so far! I have 100sqft of Fatmat I am putting on the floors and the trunk floor, then 40sqft of damplifer going in the trunk around the wells, back part by the lights, lid and rear deck. What I have left over will be doing the front doors. In due time will be doing the back doors and headliner and then get some overkill to put on most of it. Your install makes me look foward too it..........................................NOT!
January 10, 200916 yr Author an update?????? what????? oh yeahLast time you saw the front doors....Add some spec!Let it dry Fiberglass panels coated in specAdd them together!and seal the edges!First layer on the rear doorSecondThe other side all nice and drySpectrum and Ensolite on the door panels!I also have a layer or ensolite on the outer skin of the door and a layer on the inner skin (closest to you) that completely covers the holes. I also threw in some stock deadening from the back wall that I can't use because of the amp rack. I had a bit of noise through the rear doors so hopefully that has changed.
January 10, 200916 yr I'm interested in hearing how much the spectrum helped out. I'm thinking about using it in my doors.
