This is the problem...

I ordered about 6 weeks ago 2 Kinetik Audio HC1800 batteries on Ebay at IndoAudio (yes, my own stupid mistake). And since then I didn't receive any batteries.

Now I am looking to get my cash back from Paypal / Ebay.

Anyways, I still need 2 good brand batteries, which can feed my amplifiers.

Amplifiers in use (or soon to be used):

- 2x (strapped) SAZ-1500D

- 1x SAX-100.4 (bridged)

What brands (and preferably what types) can you recommend. I am on limited space in my trunk for the batteries; so smaller in size is good, but bigger in size is a no go!

Thanks for your help.

/edit

I currently own 1 Optima Yellow Top in my current car hifi configuration, but I am not at all pleased with the Optima Yellow Top (so don't recommend me these batteries!). TY

ahhh my friend, you are in luck.

There is a Deka Intimidator Group Buy on Realm of Excursion right now.

http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/showthread.php?t=46014

The link to buy the batteries is here

PM the group buy coordinator for the 10% off code.

I'd take these over Kinetics any day. I ordered one of the 9A31's for my truck.

Yeah sounds great, but I live in the Netherlands.

I really doubt this group buy would work for someone outside the USA. :S

Currently I am looking at the following batteries:

2x NorthStar Accu NSB 90 FT

Or will 2x NorthStar Accu NSB 60 FT be sufficient enough?

  • Author

After some thinking, I will be going for one of the following combinations:

Option 1 :: 2x Northstar NSB75

Option 2 :: 2x Northstar NSB90

Option 3 :: 2x Northstar NSB60FT

Option 4 :: 2x Northstar NSB90FT

I am having problems selecting the right set of batteries for my new soundconfiguration:

2x SAZ-1500D strapped

1x SAX-100.4 bridged

Would be nice if someone would tell me what would be sufficient (for daily listening).

Also please keep in mind, that I am on limited trunk space (Lexus IS 220D).

Thanks guys!

..... :Doh:

great.

I as well ordered from this indoaudio ( kenetik HC2400), on ebay a little over two weeks ago.

when some other things arrived that was ordered at the same time, I contacted them with a;

whats going on? fed-ex, said you printed a label yet have not shipped it yet! think you cant get on that?

they responded with, its on backorder. hmmmm.

hmmm. think I'll send another message. :lildevil:

stingers are good, but I'm pretty sure kenetik rules as far as bat's go.

for daily listening, depends some listen louder than others....

your running two 1500d's, so figure your gonna draw 250-300 amps at full tilt.

soo many factors come into play....

alternator output?

big 3?

Well I contacted Indo Audio Electronics multiple times... And they kept saying "Next week", "Monday or tuesday, for sure", etc. All kinds of crap. And after I sent email xx, they refunded me. :S

...to be really honest, I wasn't very polite either in that last email. But man, it pisses me off, when you wait for over 43 days and they keep saying it will be in stock asap.

Maybe you have better luck... Though I doubt it.

Anyways back on topic; well I have to stick with the custom stock alternator, since it will be pretty hard to get a Lexus IS 220D alternator. And my cash-tree is starting to deplete as well. :S

However stock alternator is pretty okay; about 130A.

I will wire the batteries from the alternator, like explained in the "Big 3".

If the alternator will not be enough, time will tell, I will let a custom one made. Though it will be expensie. :S

So I am really wondering what battery to pick. Prices in the Netherlands are a killer when it comes to (car) electronics, etc... :(

//edit

Eh...? What did you say...? Come again....? I don't hear to well...

Does that explain a bit how loud I listen? LOL ;)

well imo you should be running more like 200A plus alt.

thats the 1st place to drop some $, then look at battery's.

think about it, how much does a High Output alt cost...? about the same as a good bat. right? then why not get what makes amps, instead of storing amps if your concerned about such things....

Well if they had alternators for my car: Lexus IS220 Diesel, I would change it...

But I cannot only get a custom made and I need to supply them the information about the alternator, secondly I have to pay shipping (expensive) and customs tax. Then I need to hope it will fit.

We are talking about 700 USD or even more. That is, if I am lucky. And even paying that kind of money, I am still not sure if it will fit.

Nah I will take my changes with the current alternator first. Then I can still think about a custom alternator. Thanks for your input though.

since you are stuck with the 130a alt i would go as big as you can fit

of the list above would say the nsb90

I have had good luck with SVR's, but many people are running Powermasters and these NSB's.
