March 14, 200817 yr Admin RL-i 8 Mr. Jones, I think what is happening is that here at SSA, we try to help direct people to quality products. We want everyone in our little community to be happy with their stereo. So in other words, a few of the guys are trying to say that it is better to save a few dollars and get an amplifier that is putting out its true ratted power, and that will give you years of good performance. We don't live and die here on the biggest numbers, because numbers end up meaning nothing when everything is installed in the car. A quality install, with a good electrical system, and clean signal to your amplifiers is more important then maximum power, especially for daily driving. I was an SPL competitor for a while, but I would rather give up ratted power (real or inflated) for a quality amplifier that will last and do the job. As for the Sundown SAE-1000D, it can be had for much less then MSRP, you just have to contact a dealer for a good price. It was mentioned because it has an excellent track record and the owner of the company is very helpful and works hard on customer service.Once in a blue moon, there will be a sale or something on an out dated model that will do 1000 - 1500 or so watts, and a bunch of people will jump on it due to a bandwagon. There might be a few Cadence TXA-1000's left, but you would have to contact Jason Paul (Cadence Tech) to find out.But in the end, it is worth going with a quality amplifier (not talking esoteric Brax/ADS/Gensis/Zapco), that is proven and will do a great job. If you don't like Sundown, there are always trusty's like Kicker and Rockford who make solid amplifiers that countless people beat the crap out of everyday and are happy. Sorry for the long post, just trying to help and explain why SSA as a community will always take quality over quantity.

I need to run 4 aa 8's at about 300 watts per sub and would like a little more power to haveHere is a link to a Cadence TXA-1000d 1000watt amp you maybe be able to use. It has many reviews on many different forums and is a solid amp. You could also purchase a refurbished A7hc with a one year warranty from me for $199 + shipping.
