Is it ok to run 3 subs off 1 amp without any major worries. I was thinkin 3 15" BL's off 1 RF4000.1. What do you think?

Or maybe I should just shut up and run 3 SAE-1000D's.

hmmm, i wonder if in the long run it will be safer to just run 3 amps total, 1 per sub. it will def be cheaper buyin 3 sundown 1k watt amps compared to one RF 4000.1 watt amp, even though that amp has 1k more watts.

How would it be safer? That Rockford is rated at 1 ohm, and you're running above that in impedance. If you're careful with your gains, those subs will do fine off that power.

Personally I am a Sundown fan but in your application the RF at 1.33ohms mono should work best!

Yeah. Now I get the fun part of designing a enclosure. not to sure how I wanna do the ports, lol. Is it okay to have a slot port betweem each sub. IE>>>> O || O || O >>>>something like that where obviously O is a sub and || is a port.

IMO I would put subs as close together as possible so they may act as one. You can go all subs up and then one port back.....Just an idea

I can't do subs up unfort. My subs and port have to face the same direction because it is going in a blow through. I would love that idea if I had a camper shell or something on the truck, but I only have a fiberglass lid. Maybe I should just suck it up and put 2 15" BTLs back there instead of 3 15" BLs.

I was originally going to do 4 12" BLs but I fear between all the ports and the width I may not have enough room to fit them going across.

SIDE NOTE: almost forgot, if I do the 2 15" BTLs, I will be adding a second RF4000 to the equation withing a couple months.

Why not put the woofers on top and the port going across the bottom, or vice versa?

Hmmm, how stupid of me....that actually didn't even cross my mind, and it is such an easy answer, lol. I will probably end up doing 4 12's now. Do you think it would make a difference if I put the port on the top as opposed to the bottom? Wouldn't the box show more "strength" if I put the port on top cause the weight will not all be resting on the open section of it...if that makes sense.

I would put the port along the bottom of the enclosure if i were you. Definitely need to brace the port well so it does not flap/vibrate. There really is no strength advantage either way...you'll have to brace it the same on the top as you would the bottom.

Thanks!
