I am pretty sure I will be running 4 Q's in my new setup. My big question....what are some good amps to match them up to. I was thinking about 2 amps allowing for 2 subs on one amp so if one amp died on me it would be cheaper to get a new amp. Here is what I was thinking so far:

Kicker 2500's>>>allow about 1250 watts per Q (not sure how Kicker amps are, good price though :) )

RF 2000's>>>>>Love the look of these amps, but they are a little more costly.

Sundown 3000>>>Afraid 1500 watts will be to much for a Q. Sexy amp though

MTX Thunder Elite 4000>>>No clue at all about MTX, nice lookin amp, would have to run a 2 Ohm load.

Any input, ideas, suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated.

if money is not a problem bro sundown all the way and just cause it puts out 3000 watts doesnt mean you have to give your subs full tilt..just adjust your gains accordingly and you'll be ok my send choice would be kicker zx 2500.1 and 3rd choice would be the punch 2000 watt model..and only reason that comes in 3rd instead of 2nd is because of price..the kicker zx2500.1 for $650-$700 is just too hard to pass up...

Yeah, I do like the look of the Sundown's also. Plus, if I ever decide to go a little "bigger" and do something like BTL's, I could put 1 amp to each sub and they will probably love that. Yeah, the Kickers do have a nice pricetag...which for some reason worries me (you know, you get what you pay for, lol).

oh no you dont have to worry the zx 2500.1 is a horse man..its put outs a little over rated somewhere around 2800 watts and its solid..i mean i could drop $700-$800 on it and not have to worry if i made the right choice..but in this case first option is sundown

will the q's have the BP power option? Remember, it's all about getting the woofers to move. one 3000d will easily push all 4 q's, that thing was ran through some pretty rugged testing, and at 10.75 volts it was still pushing 3275 watts of power. and that's still at inaudible THD, and over 60% efficiency AT THAT VOLTAGE!! And nice thing about sundown is that in future if you upgrade, you can strap the amps.

Oh Yeah!!! Even if I was gonna put the bare minimum power to them, I would probably go ahead and get all the options.

The BP power option stiffens the suspension on the Q, and increases the power handling. Of course by doing that, the woofer will not do the same in a sealed enclosure unless broken in... I say do one 3000d, and then if not loud enough for you, get a second and strap them, but be very careful on the Q's, as that is definitely too much power, but at least lets you then upgrade woofers to fully loaded BL's or something.

it sounds to me like you want more output the sq? why the q's? get 4 bl's and stap 2 3000d's your head will be knockin but hope your electrical styem can take it
