I have a really big van. Plenty of space for a huge ported box, so i should be able to underpower the subs a little.

I'm hoping a bunch of MJs will be louder than the (4) 15" FI SSDs i have now.

A pair of saz-1500 strapped were tested to do 3740 watts at 12.8 volts.

A single MJ-18 is rated 600 watts rms

(6) 8 ohm MJs could be wired to 1.34 ohms

(8) 8 ohm MJs could be wired to 1 ohm

Can I do more in a huge ported box or should i just keep my SSDs?

I would say to keep what you have, as I do not have that many 8 Ohm units in stock.

Best,

Mark

Keep in mind, the pair of strapped amps will halve the final impedance of the subs... If my math is right, you could run eight SVC 4-ohm subs and end up with a 1-ohm load for each amp (2 ohms strapped)

Yea, that seems like the best use of your power. That is, if there are eight 4 ohm MJs floating around.

That's a bit confusing and really pointless. No reason to strap the amps if the goal is to run 8 4 ohm SVC subs. Run 4 off each amp. Simplifies the install and wiring greatly and there is no difference in power delivered to each sub.
