Well i asked quite awhile back what i should tune to if i wanted a loud daily listener, and most people stated 33-35 hz. It turns out that the box i've made is 34.97xx, so i just want the final word from people before i seal up the box and have to live with it. I mainly listen to rock and rap, and want it to be loud, but won't be visiting a TL anytime soon.

Edit: Sub: 18" Bl. Box: 6.3 cu ft, tuned to 34.97xx. amp: would love sundown, but may have to settle for a bxi2006d (which would be alright for me, just would prefer the sundown)

I currently run an 18" BL tuned to 35 Hz and it is plenty loud for me. Yours will be looking good I'd think. Mine's in a very minimally sized box (lacking a lot of low end) and i still think its respectable. I'd say with that size of box and it'll work good. Is there an easy way for you to change it? or are you wondering more if its just going to be disastrous?

Eh i could somewhat easily change it, but i was more wondering if i'd made a big mistake (i think i worry a little to much on the little things when it comes to this hahah). Thanks for the reply, i'm pretty sure even at 35 hz it will have decent lows, so i think im going to just keep it.

Just out of curiosity, how bigs your box?

Depends on how picky you are, what kind of music you listen to and what your definition of "low bass" is.

Just in my experience, the 35Hz-tuned enclosures I've heard weren't very good with low bass.

damnit jimj, i might be re-reconsidering, lol. anyone else with experience on tuning the BLs? As to the music, depends what kind of mood i'm in. I'm pretty varied, but i mostly listen to rap and alternative rock.

Mine's in a 5.5 ft box I believe, maybe 5.6ish And yeah, the low's are definetely not at full potential. I dont really drive around bumping it and so I never notice that much at high levels cause well, I just never really listen to it that loud I guess. If you can tune lower, i'd say go 32 or something. Thats been a real good sweet spot with the BL.

yeah may as well try it out first, why not? If you don't like it, just make the port a little longer. it's not hard to do.
