i'm guessing the 9mm is a beretta 92f. decent handgun, my bro-in-law just picked one up with four mags for $300. worth a tad bit more. (actually i cheated and googled it, lol.)

the .38 for home? i'd run a hollowpoint in the 90-100 grain area with +p. lighter bullet, little more speed, should expand nicely and create havoc as far as a wound channel goes. and being a lighter hollow, shouldn't overpenetrate like a heavier bullet in +p. if the gun isn't +p rated, go heavy bullet with a standard load, if under 900fps. big, slow punch.
