Does anybody here have any experiences with Clarion speakers, good or bad? I'm looking around for speaker reviews before I get my new system and I haven't really found much for Clarion.

Any ones in particular?

Well I'm looking at the Platinum series SRP1620M (6-1/2) and the SRP6920M (6x9), and the PXW subwoofers. I also wonder why their Ultra Series is a 6-3/4 size component speaker; I thought the default was 6-1/2... Oh yeah I'm also looking at maybe getting some amps from them, possibly the DPX1851 mono 850w and the APX4361 4/3/2 680w.

They have some good gear (I haven't used any of the above), but I must say it is a rather strange brand to fixate on is there a reason why?

It was recently found that many of the APX model amps shared a great deal of internals with some recent Arc's/Zapco's/Cerwin Vega amps.

Find out of there are any APX600.5's left, they are direct copies of the Arc's that I saw on DIYma.
