September 5, 200817 yr that speaker combo is going to be a bit over his budget, but worth it.and chad, that's not just a cutty. it's a supreme, lol. in 86 they also had the cutty sierra, which is nowhere near as cool, and fwd. when you siad 86 cutty, that's what i pictured, not the supreme. just nitpicking, lol.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
September 5, 200817 yr How does your deck have 10" of depth? All G-bodies used 4x10s. My 85, 86, and 87 never had a deck that deep. Don't even think of messing with IB in these things unless you want to cut metal and remove seat material in rear. I've tried several times and it ends up being a bigger headache than anything else.

I never heard either but have heard great reviews on both. so I am willing to give them a shot.{/quote}How does your deck have 10" of depth? All G-bodies used 4x10s. September 9, 200817 yr Author So that sounds like a solid front stage. I am still looking for a head unit that will run active that I can afford. I was also thinking of running a RE AUDIO SR15D2 in a 2ft^3 sealed enclosure @ 4 ohms off of my tantrum 250.2does anyone know if my tantrum 400.4 is active capable I know it has several crossover settings hi/low/band pass seperate for the front and rear.. if so this would save me some money
March 23, 200916 yr Author Ok so I am bringing this back. I am waiting for the sub to come in (Custom MJ 18 DVC 4). I am thinking of putting it in a 3.5 ft^3 sealed enclosure. I will be powering it off a Eclipse xa1000 480 watts @2ohms. As for the front stage, I have a idea but not sure if it would work or not.I was thinking of picking up either a eclipse xa 4000 or ea 4000, It has built in crossovers LP 50-500 as well as Hp 50-500. So this is what I was thinking(feel free to state your opinions) pick up a set of full range 3.5 or 4" coaxils put them in the dash Hp @450hz then put a mach 5 6.5 in the doors subsonic set to 60 hz and Lp @ 500 hz. (is this pos, with out sounding horrible?) Now I know this is not active. I am looking for strong midbass with a decent midrange and highs. Without all the processing as it is not in my budget right now. I listen to all sorts of music, metal, hair bands, rap, country, classical, rock. pretty much all music. With using the mach 5 6.5's I can upgrade later when I have the processing and use SEAS 27TFNC Neo textiles and do a full active set up.let me know what you think.Chad
March 23, 200916 yr full range speakers will probably cost you about the same as the SEAS tweeters, seems like kind of a waste unless ur gonna use them in some other project
March 23, 200916 yr Author full range speakers will probably cost you about the same as the SEAS tweeters, seems like kind of a waste unless ur gonna use them in some other project"sorta" I have found some decent full range for around 50.00 for the pair. 65-80 for the seas however I wouldn't need the processing just yet. you do bring up a valid point with total cost. I know I would be better off just to wait until I have enough money. I just lack patients.Chad
March 24, 200916 yr Be a waste. If you want to do a rudimentary two way, just get a set of 3" or 4" full range drivers and use them with the Mach5's. Make sure your amps can handle the cross points though.
