Well here it goes, I am planning on running 2 18" Q series Fi's in my daily driver(2000 GMC Safari). I need box design ideas for this aplication, I want it to be more aimed at sq then db. I am running a Alpine pdx 1000.1 to each 18 at 4ohms at 1000watts rms. The room I have available for the build in the back measures 50 inches wide by 34 inches deep by 21 inches tall. plan on useing 3/4 mdf for box. Pritty much need to know everything what hrz to tune it at, How many ports, what size ports, slot ported or round. Let me know what you think any ideas would be a great help. Also when are the Q's going to be available to order.

Wish that was my safari. . . :(

If it is for SQ more than dB, why not just a pair of Q 15's sealed. Plenty of output and would sound great.

Dont get me wrong, I want it to slap hard, I just dont want it to be sloppy. I dont plan on listing to a lot of phil collins mostly rap, but i just want the bass notes to be accurate. I paln on runnig 2 10" Q's along with the 18's to help reproduce some of the high kick drum type of bass in the rock and blues I sometimes listin to. I was just tryin to get a idea of how big the slot ports need to be to acheive the proper hrz tuning in a enclosure this large. I just dont have alot of knowledge on building slot ported enclosures.
