Okay I have a icon 15 and inverted with the basket outside of the box and today as I was getting outta my truck, I touched the magnet and it was considerably warm.., s this normal or is the sub getting too hot?

    Are you hearing distinct distortion? If the answer's no, and you know you're sending the driver a safe RMS voltage...then no, you're fine.

    Heat buildup in the motor is quite common, with ferrite you don't have to worry about heat quite as much as other magnet materials...

    yeah there is no distortion or smells. I have the sub mounted in a center console enclosure and when reached to get something out of the passenger seat I just noticed that it ws warm. Thanks for the advice.
