Posted June 2, 200817 yr Talk to me about the theory behind them. Designs etc... Would the mach 5 mli's be a good driver to use for a line array project.I'm curious and my room is rather short but lets say I have 6 feet to work with unless I built them for my living room. Which because of the layout would have to be a 2.1 system.
June 2, 200817 yr Oh line array talk to mark about it, he has a set in his living room (line arrays ) that sound great.i had clicked thinking you ment the signal boosters, since i know nothing about home audio..other then i like it Edited June 2, 200817 yr by ddeitz
June 2, 200817 yr Author whoops. I meant line arrays, I was just reading a post about line drivers... I'll fix it if I can.

June 2, 200817 yr Author Atleast you have computer access at work, wish i did esp on nights (hospital?)Yes sir... about to do my 4 am vital rounds. And SSA is one of the very few forums that slips through our filters.. but mr. benjamin had nothing to do with that.
June 2, 200817 yr Author omg your a murse!! im so jealous in ways. So many good looking girls in hospitals. Not a nurse, a patient care technician for now. I will be pursuing a different career path most likely Acoustical Engineering but nursing is a nice fall back.
June 2, 200817 yr Ah okay i take it thats the same as a unit aid? (you do odd tasks on the ward) like bathing, cleaning ect..
June 2, 200817 yr Author Ah okay i take it thats the same as a unit aid? (you do odd tasks on the ward) like bathing, cleaning ect..Pretty much; vitals, put together charts and copy over medex's, help pt.s ambulate, eat etc... basically a jack of all trades minus the meds.
June 2, 200817 yr i dont think our Unit assistants can do vitals or do any writing. so you have more responsibility then them, although it is basicly the same job. but gnight sir its past ma bed time. gotta get up bright and early to make sure prince edward leaves in 1 peice when he visits ..i wish i were royalty so you could go someplace and everyone bends over backwards to make sure you gtfo safe.
June 3, 200817 yr Author Nobody has any input??? How about a solid design for 2.1 cabinets? My reciever is http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/product...mp;CTID=5000400I can upgrade that too if necessary. Would be for movies, games and music sometimes.
June 3, 200817 yr You can check www.zaphaudio.com for some nice projects. Lots of nice projects in the sticky too
June 3, 200817 yr First thing to do is read this articlehttp://www.audioroundtable.com/misc/nflawp.pdfThen sit down and figure out why you want a line array and if one is really for you. Second thing to do is figure the budget, size of room, and what not. Also, with a line array go big or go home. If your going with 2.1 I would ditch any receiver and go with Crown or QSC or some other higher quality high powered rack amp for the mains and use a DCX 2496 for processing.
June 3, 200817 yr That is definitely the article to study for building your own arrays. . .If you want something inexpensive that is easy to build and sounds great, look at the ART array here:http://audioroundtable.com/GroupBuild/Projects/Under $300 for a set to see if you like the sound of an array. June 5, 200817 yr Author So how big should I make my theater/listening room. I have up to 270 ish sq feet. The room I measured out yesterday is currently 120 ish sq feet. The room is currently 15'x8' 2 of the walls are foundation, they are concrete. The 6' ceilings are also going to make acoustics interesting, I plan on at least doing something with sound deadening and putting in a real (and flat) ceiling.
