Whats the maximum amount of Rms I can give to a 18'' FI.BTL without blowing it with these options:Dual 2 Ohm,Cooling,HiXm Coil,Induct heat Ring A.K.A. Inner heat sink,& Daily option. The amount on the website says 2000 Rms but Steve Meade feeds his 5000 Rms each but he has the SPL option I just need to know how much Rms I can feed this beast. Thanks!!!

(BTL18)

Only mods/admins can close topics.

BTL's can take ~3600 watts rms daily from the average consumer.

Steve doesn't jam on his constantly either.

Steve doesn't jam on his constantly either.

His has more to do with the fact that it's clean power and he knows how to build boxes to compensate for overpowering the woofer.

Oh okay. Is 2600 watts too much or can they handle it? Im buying 4 BTL's each being powered by a hifonics brutus bxi2670d is that a good combo?

the thing i understand about the hifonics amps is the rated rms watts are at 14.4v, so keep that in mind. that being said i think that as long as you know what youre doing with enclosure, gains, etc you should be safe

dont just go ahead and order based on what i just said tho, i'm only giving an opinion from my NOOB point of view.

someone please back me up, or correct me if i'm wrong.

one thing i know for almost sure tho, is you are going to have a rather tough time getting the rated rms out of the hifonics stuff. its possible, but tough.

I am running 4 15"BTL's (SPL) on 4 BXI2608D each capable of 2500-2600 RMS. To the above poster you are correct, the Hifonics amps will do there rated power but not at 12volts, 14.4 up to 16 will give way better numbers and that is dependent on the car's electrical. I havent installed everything yet becuase I'm waiting on the sub's to arrive but I have 2 Kinetik2400's and I will be running two 250amp 16volt alternator's to the Kinetik's.

oh yeah do any of you guys know the approx. weight of a 18'' FI.BTL with the options i listed above? I'm just curious about how much they weigh!

Steve doesn't jam on his constantly either.

oh he does. but his are also a little altered. well his old ones were. more spiders etc...

and he doesnt give em 5k. maybe a little more than 4k, but not quite 5.

and the hifonics wont put out that 2600 watts. it'll put out around 2100-2200 i believe. if you're going to get subs like 18" BTL's, then i'd save up for a more decent amp. you'll be happier in the long run

EDIT: and the weight for the old ones were i think around 75-80, give or take. not sure about the new ones, but there's an idea
