Posted June 10, 200817 yr I'm in the process of working out a system for my TJ Jeep. I'd appreciate some advice on different ported-enclosure arrangements to suit it.Leaning towards down firing, but i am concerened about wind interference from port positioning, as if is a soft-top. Also, it will be to suit two Fi BTL 18's or 15's, undecided...Thanks!
June 10, 200817 yr As far as I know, TJ's don't have too much room in the back...Down-fire sounds like a plan, I've seen it done before. I think 2 12's would suit you better though...
June 10, 200817 yr i take it your losing whatever back seat there was? definitely go downfire, especially with a softtop. make sure you resin/fiberglass to add in waterproofing. and with a pair of 15s, or 18s, and enough power, wind noise won't be that big of an issue, lol.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
June 10, 200817 yr Author I've come up with something like this. Pretty much minimises enclosure height, while maintaining 6 cubic feet per sub.
June 10, 200817 yr Whoa, theres room for a box of upwards of 12ft^3 in a Jeep??? Plus with that much displacement I would figure you would undo the soft top anytime you rolled into the volume knob.
June 11, 200817 yr Author Yeh, well with only the front seats in it can fit a fairly large enclosure. i think it has about 50odd ft^3 of cargo space overall. ha i think it definately would blow the top off. It's got a hardtop for the winter which makes it a bit more versatile . Be great down at the beach, like a mobile party!!
