So this is how much room I would like to use, but I have more room if necessary (I need some trunk space :laugh:)

My dimensions are 33x21x17 and here is a picture with how what space I would like to take up. Just post your input on if this is good or if I should add more space for the box and how much! This should be around 6.817 cubes without any displacement.

(btw this picture isn't mine I just googled what an 05 equinox trunk looks like, and no those side panels do not come out)

and for the height I can also do up to about 21 inches so if i wanted to mount the sub back i could and aero ports are always an option so I can save some room inside.

If those are internal dimensions, then you calculated the correct gross volume. If they are external, you only have 5.5 gross volume. Take away driver displacement, and you have 5.25. A little small by the time you get a port in there.

Yea I am going with a 1 sub setup, I have room for the 18, I will just have to make the box taller/longer. I wish I could make it wider but I can't

Taller or deeper better for you? If you could go 33 x 21 x 22, you could get a decent box for the single 18.

Yea actually that sounds like itd be pretty good, well i think the max height i would want to do is 20" or else it would start going above the back seats.

31.5 x 19.5 x 20.5 = 7.28 ft^3. Subtract driver and port displacement and it will be less than 6 ft^3.

Well I might have to have the depth a couple more inches then to get my desired space.

well i did some more measurements and what i can fit without putting the box above back seat height is 33x25x20

Alright I found out the max dimensions I have in my trunk WITHOUT going above the backseat. It is 34x26x20 so I should have a decent amount of room in my trunk now to get a decent sized box.

Are you going sealed or ported? I have an 18Q in a sealed enclosure at the moment that measures 37Wx15Hx24D external and it loves everything under 50hz. i want to go ported but I want 8^3ft with all displacements to go that route
