well my recones from Fi came and they were supposed to be dual 2s....so i could run my ab 500.1 at .5ohm....but the coils read 1.5....which means i have to run my amp at .35.....not very good.....

just curious as to why they arent actual dual 2s

Because that's how they are, always been like that. dual 1.4's is the industry standard...been making coils like that for years.

.5ohm on that amp is not safe by anymeans anyways, your looking at a smoke show regardless.

Find me a sub that is rated exactly like it says.

You won't get a 2.0 reading off of a dual 2 ohm sub.

I've posted this a LOT.

Dual 2 ohm, i've seen 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 1.9

There is impedance rise which always plays a factor so it won't burn up an amp but you can't take rise for granted so much as to expect to wire it at unsafe loads and be 100% fine.

ppl run this amp at .5 all the time daily, and some drop it even lower with proper electrical....

but okay i see what youre saying.

prior to the recones the subs were dual .7s....im gonna guess those are dual 1s?

yep, dual 1s can be, or i've seen be-

0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9
