Posted July 6, 200817 yr I think I might go full active, and I would LOVE to go the route of a 6ch amp.I was looking at the Audison VRx6 Direct, damn its expensive.I know PPI had a nice PC6600.2 back in the day before the DEI switch over.SoundStream had the Davinci (overkill for me, I dont need 7channels)Anyone have any other suggestions?
July 6, 200817 yr A/D/S used to make them. Haven't checked them out in a while though.Matter of fact...... http://forum.carstereos.org/fs-adire-braham-t68032.htmlTwo extra channels even! Edited July 6, 200817 yr by KU40
July 6, 200817 yr The Zapco would be good if you needed the amplifier to have internal processing. But it's still expensive.Another, more affordable, option;http://cgi.ebay.com/JBL-GTO755-6II-6-CHANN...1QQcmdZViewItem
July 7, 200817 yr Beware the frequency response on the two "midbass" channels of the JBL. 300hz should be fine for midbasses, but that is all you will get out of the amp.
July 7, 200817 yr Author I'm running Focal 100KP (4" component set) and a set of Kicker SSMB8So midbass is very well covered for the time being, I might switch up to something a little better. But for now they'll doI have a lead on a bnib with warrenty Chrome Shadow VRx6 Direct for $1400 CDNOr a lightly used (out of an SQ comp car) VRx6 Direct for $1200 CDNThe guy is local so no shipping neededAre the prices fair?Although the Xtants would be awesome too Edited July 7, 200817 yr by SeductiveSounds
August 15, 200817 yr Wet Sounds makes a 6 channel, its a marine but its a true 1000 watts made by Zapco, so it will run you about $1000
