So there is someone selling a blown 15" icon and i was thinking of picking it up. I was wondering if I could recone it with Q coils and put it in a 3 cu fu. @ 32 Hz? Would this work or am i just thinking to crazy? also how much would a 15" Q recone cost to 94803?

i could ask SSA for a recone but i like to be different and see if a SSA/Fi hybrid would sound good or not

Sent you an email back explaining why you shouldn't do it. Contact SSA for a recone, there's a reason why those parts are chosen for that motor.

i wasnt going to plan and resell it. i was going to keep it as long as possible

Honestly man keep it as an icon. Your not going to notice any change in performance..audibly at least.
